Gartner, a renowned analyst house, released the 2019 Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring earlier in March. The organization defines application performance monitoring suites as a single or multiple software component that facilitates application monitoring to meet main functional dimensions. The functions include: digital experience monitoring (DEM), artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps), and tracing and diagnostics (ADTD).
Based on their report, Gartner anticipates enterprising will quadruple their APM functionality until 2021 to cover the increasing amount of digitized business capabilities. It is expected that APM suites will cover at least 20% of all business applications by now. The analyst also assembled the Magic Quadrant to analyze and rank at least 12 APM vendors based on different qualities. –Crischellyn Abayon
