Why Monitoring Your Network Is Important

August 6, 2019 / GuidesFor Team

Network monitoring according to Techopedia is the network’s systematic effort to detect if there are problems in speed or if the network components are failing. It can happen due to different factors such as overloading, failing routers, failing switchers, or problematic devices. If there are outages, the network monitoring system alerts the network administrator to have the problem addressed.

Constant monitoring of the health or reliability of a network should also be coupled by searching for trends, monitoring system tracks, and logging of network parameters. If the predetermined parameter thresholds are reached, the alarms will be triggered and the network will be managed by the network fault management process. This is a very important tool to have as it could help in the proper management of things before crises arise. –Crischellyn Abayon
